Innovating and empowering the lives and future of rural women in India

Women Empowerment

When the women of any country are empowered, the entire nation is empowered. In India, rural and backward women face various challenges. These include getting basic education, being financially independent or earning their livelihood. Most of them are even deprived of basic facilities like sanitation and food. After thoroughly understanding these challenges, ARTSofINDIA.in has come up with various free arts and crafts workshops for empowering the rural women

Who can benefit from our free workshops?

All our products are handmade by the best artisans

Our sole aim is to empower the women, young and adult girls residing in rural, marginalised and backward areas of our country. Especially those women, who find it extremely difficult to earn a livelihood but have a keen passion to do so. We also aim to empower the artisans, craftswomen and housewives on a community level. Any rural women or housewife who is willing to learn a new art or craft skills and earn a respectable livelihood can be a part of our free workshops.

How are the workshops organised?

In order to organise our free workshops, ARTSofINDIA.in first connects with the regional artisans on a personal level. This step is crucial to impart the correct and quality knowledge and skill to the rural women. Further, this allows us to choose the best artisans for you. Next, we connect with the rural and backward community to empower their women. We teach them the regional and traditional art prevailing in their culture, community or region. This presents them with a feeling of familiarity and promotes regional arts and crafts.

The entire raw material, essential supplies, and instruments are provided to these women from our end. For example, if any craft activity requires sewing, ARTSofINDIA.in provides sewing machines to the women. The workshops are usually organised for a period of ranging from 5 to 30 days. During the entire workshop, all the costs are borne by us. The extraordinary works of arts and crafts produced during our workshops are sold on our official website www.ARTSofINDIA.in. The entire profit made by the sales is given to the women who made it. In some workshops, we also provide employment to the rural women on account of the skill they learnt during the same.

Support an Artisan

Your small effort can make a big difference. If you wish to support the rural artisans or empower the marginalized women, then you can do so by purchasing one of their products from www.ARTSofINDIA.in.

For every product you purchase, a part of the profit goes to the artisan who made it. To further promote Indian arts and revive the lost and forgotten crafts, you can share our website and products to as many people you know. This will create awareness about the works these rural artisans are doing and help them gain cognizance and a better life.
